About

Performance that matters

Derp Productions is a one-person design and engineering brand from Far North Queensland, started in January 2026 by DoubleDerp.

How it started

“I'll do it myself.”

Half of what's on the market just wasn't what I was looking for. Parts weren't designed for the way I actually use a car, or they cost an arm and a leg for something you could get made off Alibaba.

So I decided to do it myself: design it, engineer it, prototype it, verify it, and make it as good as possible for as many people as possible. There's never a product that suits everyone, but I aim to get as close as I can.

I don't go looking for competition. I find a space that's empty and do my own thing.

The name

Derp. Or D.E.R.P.

It started as a nod to my Steam name, then turned out to spell exactly what the business is about.

Design

Start from how the thing will actually be used.

Engineer

Make it work properly, not just look the part.

Refinement

Prototype, test, fix, repeat until it's right.

Precision

Get the details right, every time.

Current focus

The CB Fork started with my dad

My dad has been using all kinds of radio gear for well over 20 years, on older hardware, and I'm usually the one helping with the tech side.

The Derp Productions CB Fork began as a way to make that easier for him. It grew into something for the wider FT8 community: software that runs on older machines and doesn't need several programs to do the job.

60+ stations are running version 1.2.1 or 1.3.0.

Who's behind it

Just me, for the love of the game

Derp Productions is me, DoubleDerp. I do this for fun.

I make things for myself and share them. If they're useful to you, use them. I don't take on custom or commission work, so what you see here is what I'm building.

Performance Parts

The same approach is going into a line of performance parts. They're still in development.
